Our Mission
The EdAction (Formerly MREdCo PAC) exists to promote grassroots activism and work to ensure future Americans received a broad, liberal arts education equipping them to be successful at whatever they want to do. We work to oppose federal and state government's takeover of education through such programs as Goals 2000, the Profile of Learning, No Child Left Behind, School to Work, and the Workforce Investment Act.
Our Work
EdAction was founded in 1999. EdAction is a 501(c)(4) which promotes activism and coalition building. It differs from our sister organization, EdWatch, which is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit, focusing on education and information.
Our History
EdAction was founded in 1999 by a school board member from Maple River School District in south central Minnesota. Renee Doyle resigned her position. Together with a handful of concerned parents, she formed a statewide organization of parents, students, teachers, school board members, business owners and other involved citizens concerned for our educational freedoms.
Our Power
As a grassroots organization, EdAction is run solely by concerned volunteers. We have no paid staff. Our power lies in a statewide membership of over 10,000 activists and similar networks throughout the country. We are not afraid to confront issues and promote change.
Our Board
(Who is on the board?) Our board volunteers many hours toward presentations and lobbying. Their dedication ensures that our message continues to spread and more and more people become active.
