A defender of the We the People textbook fails to identify herself as a Center for Civic Education (CCE) coordinator as she  disseminates the "spin" of the CCE. Nor does she mention that the CCE is funded by federal dollars to publish the textbook. Her defense is full of misinformation about the radical We the People curriculum

Huge Mental Health Victory for MN Families  July 18, 2005
In two enormous setbacks for the mental health establishment (the pharmaceutical industry, professional organizations, and mental health front groups), universal mental health screening at least once by age 3 was defeated as part of mandatory kindergarten screening in the 2005 Minnesota legislative session. In addition, thanks to the incredible work of House Republican negotiators and the informed, persistent work of EdWatch, Minnesota becomes the first state in the nation to prohibit schools from coercing parents to either medicate their children with psychotropicdrugs OR submit them to mental health screening.

New law: Schools can't force meds on kids  July 5, 2005
A new federal law bars states and schools from keeping students out of class in cases when parents disagree with a recommendation to medicate a child. Rep. John Kline, R-Minn., member of the House Education Committee, would extend the Medication Safety Act to include psychotropic drugs such as Prozac, Paxil and Zoloft.
