URGE YOUR LEGISLATORS
SUPPORT LEGISLATION TO:
PREVENT DISCRIMINATION
- No financial or other disadvantage may be directed toward any
business as a consequence of hiring a charter, private or home school graduate.
- No financial advantage or incentive may be offered by the state, or
any state agency, in order to encourage the hiring of graduates holding state-sponsored
credentials or "skill certificates" over graduates who choose not to participate
in such state-sponsored credentialing programs.
- No business may discriminate against any other business on the basis
of participation or nonparticipation in STW, vocational, career and technical programs.
- No post-secondary educational institute may discriminate against any
charter, private or home-school graduate in regard to admission or financial aid.
- Freedom of conscience clause: No district may refuse employment or
promotion based on attitudes, values, beliefs or worldview. No district may discriminate
against any student for promotion or grading based on attitudes, values, beliefs or
worldview.
SUPPORT A RETURN TO REPRESENTATIVE GOVERNMENT
- Non-elected governing boards would be prohibited from superintending
or managing public schools, adopting rules for their organization, government and
instruction, keeping registers, or prescribing textbooks, courses of study or curriculum.
- The state may not mandate any specific curriculum, means of
assessment, scoring method, performance package, or pedagogy upon a local district
contrary to the desire of locally elected school boards.
SUPPORT DATA PRIVACY
1. No teacher, school, or agency of the state may, without the
written permission of the parent or legal guardian of a student, collect, compile, retain,
or distribute information of a personal nature in any form or for any purpose whatsoever.
Personal information includes, but is not limited to: medical, psychological, family,
employment, membership, religious affiliation, portfolio assessment or any information
that includes subjectively measured attitudes, values, beliefs, or worldview perspectives.
